Online gambling software and network provider Playtech plc reports that it has signed top internet gambling operators Snai and Eurobet to join its Italian bingo networks.
The new additions are scheduled to commence operations in the near future, becoming part of Italy's first online bingo network. Playtech has also intimated that it has additionally signed with an as yet undisclosed international gaming operator with significant interests in Italian bingo, which is expected to launch in the second half of the year.
The addition of Snai and Eurobet will enable players to enjoy enhanced liquidity, multiple rooms, a large variety of games and networked games, along with social chat facilities hosted by Italian moderators.
Playtech has emphasised that its software is fully compliant with Italy's gaming authority, the Amministrazione Autonoma dei Monopoli di Stato (AAMS).
Mor Weizer, Playtech's chief executive, said: "Playtech's bingo activities are making excellent progress across the board. Today's announcement adds to that momentum and is a significant revenue enhancing step forward for our Italian bingo operations, bringing substantial incremental liquidity. It underlines our strategic focus on geographical and product diversification into additional regulated markets. Playtech is in active discussions with additional Italian bingo operators and expects to add more licensees in the coming few months."
Snai is a major player in the Italian betting market, managing a network of 6 000 betting shops and providing a wide range of products and telematic services, including internet betting. It was the first operator to launch on Playtech's iPoker network in 2008 and is the largest constituent on the network. It is expected to launch bingo in the coming few weeks.
Eurobet is an Italian and international sportsbook owned by Gala Coral Group, and has been operating on Playtech's iPoker.it network since 2008. It too will join the bingo network in the coming few weeks.
