Per Widerström appointed managing director, Gala Interactive
 
The Gibraltar-based Gala Interactive division of the UK gambling group Gala Coral has a new md following the appointment last week of widely experienced Swedish exec Per Widerström, who was formerly with Bwin.party.digital as chief integration officer for the Bwin-Party Gaming merger and group games director.
 
Widerström has in-depth management experience in the industry and has been chief operating officer for Party Gaming; CEO of Expekt and a director of Mangas Gaming Malta.
 
Educated at the London School of Economics and Göteborg university, he held senior positions in several Swedish companies before becoming involved in the online gambling industry.
 
He was Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at Kyivstar GSM; CEO at Telenor Mobile Sweden; Vice President and Co-founder at Wannago; Director Operational Marketing and Business Development at The Coca-Cola Company (Coca-Cola Nordic Services) and Sales & Business Development Manager at Coca-Cola Beverages Sweden; a Senior Management Consultant at Gemini Consulting; Senior Project & Supply Chain Manager at Procter & Gamble Scandinavia; and a Management Consultant at Andersen Consulting.
